Draft document — not a substitute for legal advice
These legal documents are draft platform terms and should be reviewed by a qualified UK solicitor before commercial launch.
1. Self-employed status
You are registering as a self-employed driver. Thea Nexus is not your employer. No employment, worker or agency relationship is created unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.
2. Tax and HMRC
You are solely responsible for your own income tax, National Insurance, VAT (where applicable) and all reporting obligations to HMRC. You should keep your own records and accounts.
3. No guarantee of work
Registering with the network does not guarantee any work, hours, income, jobs, routes or assignments. Opportunities will depend on client demand, your location, your vehicle category, and your documentation.
4. Your responsibilities
- Hold a valid UK driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category you operate.
- Hold legal right to work in the UK where applicable, and provide evidence on request.
- Maintain motor insurance, Hire & Reward insurance (where applicable), Goods in Transit insurance (where applicable) and Public Liability insurance (where required).
- Keep your vehicle taxed, MOT'd, roadworthy and properly maintained.
- Comply with all road traffic laws, drivers' hours rules, and operational instructions of the engaging client.
- Notify Thea Nexus promptly of any changes to your licence, insurance, vehicle or right-to-work status.
5. Conduct
Thea Nexus may suspend, remove or reject any driver for fraud, misconduct, unsafe driving, invalid or expired documents, insurance issues, excessive complaints, or breach of these terms.
6. Payment
Where Thea Nexus acts as an introducer, payment is agreed and made directly between you and the engaging company. Where Thea Nexus engages you as a subcontractor on a managed driver supply assignment, payment terms will be set out in a separate written agreement.
7. Limitation and indemnity
Thea Nexus is not liable for losses you incur as a result of engagements with third-party clients, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded. You agree to indemnify Thea Nexus for losses caused by your negligence, misconduct, breach of law, invalid documents, insurance failures or tax issues.
8. Governing law
These driver terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, with exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
